 《百業經》顧名思義指的是至少有百則關於業力的經典,主要記載眾生現世事跡與過去生相關涉及的因緣業果。內容的起頭,一般是藉由佛世時眾生的一生遭遇,或出生富貴,或長相醜陋,或不如法,或得道證果,種種眾生相的差異,透過佛弟子請示釋迦牟尼佛,因而了知該眾生何以會有此業果的過去生因緣,鮮明傳達出「縱經百千劫,所作業不亡,因緣會遇時,果報還自受」的因緣果報法則。  本選集中所牽涉到的眾生,約可分為二類,第一類眾生雖生在佛世,卻無緣修學佛法,或已學佛但還未解脫者,前者以仍在地獄、惡鬼道受苦眾生為主,後者有國王、比丘、比丘尼、王妃等;第二類眾生則是已獲得解脫,或蒙佛陀授記,這類眾生僅限於人、天,含括國王、死刑犯、大臣、小孩、首陀羅人、天子圪各種身份。另外,亦有多篇涉及佛陀過去生中行菩薩道的事蹟。  當閱讀到第一類眾生的業跡時,不妨注意一下,他們生在佛世,又幸運地蒙世尊以他們為例,說明其前世業因,渡化眾生,為什麼他們無法修學佛法乃至解脫?最主要的原因是什麼?若已了知地獄、惡鬼道的眾生,在其惡業未消盡以前,是無暇修學佛法,如此可再尋求他們墮入惡道的緣由,以及何時可脫離惡道,何時可達解脫證果。經過這樣的探求之後,相信不用他人多說,也會明白何以要避免墮入惡道。  至於第二類眾生則是無論何種身份,遭逢何種順逆境,皆有機會遇佛聞法,修行得解脫,可想想為什麼他們有這樣的善或惡的因緣?最重要的因素是什麼?如此,必得留心他們過去生中,曾造下什麼樣的業緣,或發過何種善願,促使他們生逢佛世,不管出生富貴或貧賤,即使在惡業未完全消盡之下,仍能在世尊面前,或親聞佛法,或出家,乃至解脫生死。  透過對這些眾生過去因緣的了解,見賢思齊,見不賢內自省,可抉擇出適當的行為準則,尤其要避免造下墮入惡道的業因。佛世時的惡道眾生,無緣學佛,是我們最好的警惕。除了消極不再造惡業外,更需積極累積善業資糧,行持六度,這樣就算我們遭遇過去生所造下的惡因成熟時,也能以此積善修行功力平等心面對,隨緣消舊業,至少確保承受惡業的當下,不會再造新殃。那麼當未來佛出現世間時,我們就有把握以人身遇佛得度。"Hundred already" bydefinition means that you have at least a hundred classic aboutkarma, earthly beings major record deeds associated with paststudents involved karma karma. 前言  我絕沒有想到《現代因果實錄》出版後,立即受到各地同修們的歡迎,相繼翻印,許多地方一版再版。儘管我在「緣起」的最後說明了「鑒於諸多不便,我隱去了書中所涉人物的真實姓名與地點」,但仍有不少人沒有看明白內容就急於去五台山尋訪妙法老和尚,結果既勞力又傷財,這不是我的本意。後來又有不少人致電致信開封佛學社詢問妙法老和尚住地,佛學社在再版時不得不在書後加上了「事是真實事,名是虛化名,因果警世人,無須覓師蹤」的告示,但仍有去五台山和天津尋訪的。這些讀者儘管相信佛法,卻是一味地向外求,就是真的見到妙法老和尚也未必能獲益。  令人可喜的是,有不少讀者在閱讀《現代因果實錄》明白了道理的同時,對照自己所造之業,決心改正,結果在內心生起懺悔心的同時,身上的病苦竟突然好了,或減輕了許多。還有一些未斷葷腥的讀者,閱讀此書後始知吃葷腥罪業深重,即刻斷除,未曾想幾個月後不僅身體日復一日健康,皮膚也變得白皙了,人顯得年輕了許多。更有人在事業上開始興旺起來。體形較胖的人,變得健美,而瘦弱的人在吃全素後反倒增加了體重,日復強壯,還有許多孕婦徹底斷除葷腥,學念地藏經,生下的孩子既健康又聰明,相貌莊嚴且安樂易養。總之,戒除葷腥好處多多,每個人因緣不同,獲益也不同。時常傳來的這些令人法喜充滿的消息,讓我深深地感到,我們眾生猶如久旱待雨的漫山百千種植物,佛法則是甘露,一雨普覆,大樹小草各得所需。所以,深入經藏,增長智慧,聞即信受,才能離苦得樂。這也是我寫此書本來的目的:向內求才能獲益,即「一切唯心造」道理的實踐。ForewordI never thought of "Modern causal Record" after publicationimmediately welcomed by fellow practitioners around, havereproduced, reprinted in many places. 大迦葉大迦葉(佛陀的大弟子 《頭陀第一》)。釋迦牟尼佛有十大弟子,他們是:一、大迦葉,二、舍利弗,三、目連,四、須菩提,五、富樓那,六、迦旃延,七、阿那律,八、優波離,九、阿難,十、羅侯羅。大迦葉是十大弟子之首。梵文:Kasyapa,稱大迦葉,或稱為迦葉、迦葉波、迦攝波。古印度摩揭陀國王舍城人。少欲知足,常修苦行,故稱為「頭陀第一」。「頭陀」是梵文:Dhuta的譯音,意為:「抖擻」,就是清心寡慾,掃除世間塵垢煩惱,是佛教的苦行之一。大迦葉跟佛陀以後謹守佛陀的旨意並虔誠的專修苦行,深受佛陀的信任,當佛陀預感不久人世時指定彌勒菩薩於五十六億七千萬年後接替他為「未來佛」的同時,令指定以大迦葉為首的四弟子(另有:君屠缽嘆、賓頭盧、羅侯羅)為「四大聲聞」,繼承佛陀的事業弘揚佛法並在將來輔佐未來的「彌勒佛」。他是佛教第一次結集的召集人。釋迦牟尼涅槃後的第二年的夏天,大迦葉將所有的弟子召集到王舍城靈鷲山集合,彙編釋迦佛陀的遺教,全部彙編整合完成由阿難誦「經」、優波離誦「律」、富樓那誦「論」。這就是所謂的「三藏聖典」。因而有第一祖師之稱。對於佛法的流傳,有極大的功勞。目犍連目連(神通第一)。釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,梵文Mahamaudgalyagana的音譯。或為摩訶目犍連、目犍連、大目犍連。號稱「神通第一」。古印度摩揭陀國土舍城人。從釋迦牟尼佛出家,成為釋尊的十大弟子。以神通第一著稱。後被反佛教的婆羅門打死。在佛教雕像中,常侍立在釋尊左邊。相傳其神通廣大,以「天眼通」看到他的母親在地獄受苦,在七月十五按佛陀的意思設盂蘭盆供奉十方僧眾,在他們的幫助下入地獄救母,由此,佛教有「中元節」。富樓那富樓那(說法第一)。釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,梵文Purna的音譯。是富樓那彌多羅尼子(Puramqitrayaniputra)的略稱,意譯為滿慈子。迦毗羅衛人,國師婆羅門之子。先與朋友出家修苦行,釋迦成道後,前往歸依,善於分辨佛義,廣宣法理,被稱為「說法第一」。富樓那能因人施教,見一種人說一種法,在他的解說後人們都為之折服,從而皈依佛門。富樓那精進修持,不懈不怠,宣揚人生真理教化眾生,在說法人當中最為第一。須菩提須菩提(解空第一)。 釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,梵文 Subhuti的音譯。或為須浮提、須扶提等,號稱「解空第一」。古印度拘撒羅國舍衛城人。從釋迦牟尼佛出家,成為釋尊的十大弟子。以解空第一著稱。須菩提每次化緣都去有錢人家裏化緣,因為有錢人難得學佛,經中說,豪富者學佛難;他為了與他們結法緣使他們來生不致於迷失,而專門向有錢人去托缽,而大迦葉卻向窮人化緣,因大迦葉要給窮人集善的機會。他們兩個人的起念都是慈悲心,但顯然都有缺失,會惹來評議、惹來譏嫌,楞嚴經中,佛陀說他們,心不均平,都起了分別心,經過佛陀的導正,須菩提便捨掉自我從善如流。大乘佛法的精神,首先便是要破除自心的分別和我執,才能進一步做到無人、我、眾生、壽者。舍利弗舍利弗(智慧第一)。釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,梵文Sariputra的音譯。或譯作鶖鷺子、舍利子。號稱「智慧第一」。初從六師外道的刪闍那毗羅胝子出家,後因聽到馬勝比丘說因緣所生法的偈頌,改學佛法。由於他持戒多聞、敏捷智慧、善講佛法,因此很快成為佛陀的十大弟子之一。羅侯羅羅侯羅(密行第一)。釋迦牟尼佛的唯一的兒子,也是釋迦牟尼的「四大聲聞」,和「十大弟子」之一,是佛陀做太子時和妻子耶輸陀羅所生。為梵語Rohula的音譯。又為「羅護羅」,意為「覆障」、「障月」、「執月」的意思。因為他是在月蝕之夜出世的。當太子的佛陀因為有了兒子很歡喜,因為佛陀的父親淨飯王不至因他的獨子釋迦牟尼出家而王室無後。佛陀就在兒子出世的第七天騎著白馬出家了,從此,羅侯羅就在沒有父愛的環境下過了他的童年。佛陀成道後的第三年,回到他的家鄉時,佛陀的妻子和羅侯羅沒有去迎接佛陀,當耶輸陀羅向羅侯羅說佛陀是他的父親時,羅侯羅竟不認識。後佛陀對他的前妻說:「讓你辛苦了,當然我是有負予你的,但我為眾生而犧牲,請你為我歡喜。」佛陀又為羅侯羅剃度,拜舍利弗為戒師,舍利弗為他受沙彌十戒,成僧團中有沙彌之始,時,羅侯羅十五歲。羅侯羅誦經十分勤奮,二十歲成道,又嚴守戒規,被稱謂「密行第一」的阿羅漢。阿難陀阿難(多聞第一)。釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,(生於西元前463)為梵語Ananda的音譯。意為「歡喜」、「喜慶」原是釋迦牟尼佛的堂弟,後跟隨佛陀出家,佛陀五十五歲時,選阿難為常隨侍者,當侍者達二十五年。因為他專注地服侍佛陀,謹記無誤佛的一言一語,因此被稱為「多聞第一」。佛滅後第一結集由阿難誦出三藏中的經藏。佛陀涅槃後大迦葉尊者成為「初祖」,統領廣大佛家弟子。大迦葉圓寂後,阿難尊者繼承迦葉率領徒眾宏揚佛法,被後世尊成為「二祖」。在寺院中,阿難與迦葉總是侍立在佛陀的兩邊,成為佛陀的協侍。優婆離優婆離(持律第一)。釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,為梵語Upali的音譯,或稱為優波離。意譯為無滅。出身與古印度的低下層,是奴隸、雜工,沒有任何人身權利,原為一名理髮師,是佛陀做太子時的宮中理髮師,後和薩迦的王子一起跟隨佛陀出家。因持律精嚴,從來不犯一點小錯,佛陀命他持長僧團的戒律被稱為「持律第一」。優婆離的一生,是在處理僧團的糾紛。為犯戒的比丘忏摩,向佛陀請問戒律中度過的,堪稱為戒律權威。佛滅後第一結集由優婆離誦出三藏中的律藏。阿尼律陀阿尼律陀(天眼第一)。釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,為梵語Aniruddha的音譯,意譯為無滅。釋迦牟尼佛的堂弟,即佛陀的叔父甘露飯王之子,佛陀成道以後曾回家阿尼律陀佩服堂兄的道行,於是跟隨佛陀出家,以「天眼第一」著稱。雖然阿尼律陀是天眼第一的大神通,可是他本人卻是個盲人,《楞嚴經》說他出家之初,貪眠不起,被佛陀呵斥他像個畜生貪睡。阿尼律陀受此刺激下狠心連續七天不眠,竟不幸失明。但得了天眼通的神通是佛門的千里眼,他的千里眼能見十方(東、南、西、北、東南、東北、西南、西北、上、下)地域,達到能見世界如見核桃的境界。正是天眼阿尼律陀對世界看得太清楚太明白了,所以他是最心平氣和的羅漢,跟誰都合得來,他還悟出證道的方法,他認為:道是從少欲、知足、寂靜、正念、正定、精進、正慧、無戲論八法而得到的。迦旃延迦旃延(議論第一)。釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一,為梵語Katyayana的音譯,古印度阿槃提國婆羅門之子。原出家修習外道,後跟隨釋迦牟尼學法,以能分別諸經,善說法相,有「議論第一」之稱。或稱為摩訶迦旃延、大迦旃延。

紀曉嵐寫的因果故事序  紀文達公,諱昀,清朝學者、文學家。直隸獻縣(今屬河北)人。字曉嵐,一字春帆,晚號石雲。乾隆進士,官至禮部尚書、協辦大學士。曾任四庫全書總篡官,篡定《四庫全書總目提要》。錄其平時所見所聞奇異之事,著《閱微草堂筆記》一書,約三十萬餘言,詳述因果六道輪迴之事證,多系真人真事,偶間有寓言者,然皆詞理周圓,堪為後世之寶鑒。警世勵俗,俾閱者知所戒慎進止。此書膾炙人口,令人拍案驚奇,昔賢評價尤在《聊齋誌異》之上。瀆職減祿安邑人宋半塘,曾在鄞縣作官。宋說,鄞縣有位書生很有文才,但他在仕途上卻屢遭困頓,沒有考上功名。後來這位書生得了一場大病,病中迷離恍惚,夢見自己來到了一處官衙門。根據那裡的情形,他覺察到這地方似乎便是冥司。這時候,對面走來一位官服打扮的人,書生一看,卻是一位老相識,便急忙向他打聽,自己得了這場病,是不是很快就會死?這位冥官說: “ 你的壽數未盡,但是祿數盡了,恐怕不久就要到這兒來了。 ”書生說: “ 我這輩子,全靠設館教書餬口,沒幹過傷天害理的事,怎麼祿數倒先盡了? ”冥官嘆息說: “正因為你是吃教書這碗飯的,而對孩子們的學業、品德放任不問。冥司認為,無功受祿就等於偷盜或浪費糧食,必須扣除應得的俸祿來補償。所以你壽命未盡而祿數先盡。為人師長者,位居„ 在三(君、親、師) ‟之中,享有崇高的榮譽。你收取人家的學費,卻誤人子弟,理應受到最嚴厲的譴責。有官祿的,就要削減官祿。沒有官祿的,就得消減食祿。一絲一毫都計較的很分明。世人往往看到一些飽學之士或通儒大家,有的生活窮困,有的年少夭折,便抱怨天道不公平。可哪裡知道,這些人都是自誤生平,才落得這地步。”書生聽罷,悵然而醒。從此,他的病日重一日,果然沒有治癒的希望。臨死之前,他把夢見的事講給他的親朋好友們聽,並告誡他們要忠於職守,努力從善。這個故事也因此得以流傳於世。Ji Xiaolan wrote causalstorySequenceClement reached the public, taboo Yun Qing Dynasty scholar,writer. 妙法蓮華經提婆達多品第十二姚秦三藏法師鳩摩羅什譯爾時佛告諸菩薩、及天人四眾:「吾於過去無量劫中,求法華經,無有懈倦。於多劫中、常作國王,發願求於無上菩提,心不退轉。為欲滿足六波羅蜜,勤行布施,心無吝惜,象、馬、七珍、國、城、妻、子,奴婢、僕從,頭、目、髓、腦,身、肉、手、足,不惜軀命。時世人民、壽命無量,為於法故,捐捨國位,委政太子,擊鼓宣令、四方求法:『誰能為我說大乘者,吾當終身供給走使。』時有仙人、來白王言:『我有大乘,名妙法蓮華經,若不違我,當為宣說。』王聞仙言,歡喜踴躍,即隨仙人、供給所需,採果、汲水,拾薪、設食,乃至以身而為床座,身心無倦。於時奉事、經於千歲,為於法故,精勤給侍,令無所乏。」  爾時世尊欲重宣此義,而說偈言:我念過去劫,為求大法故,雖作世國王,不貪五欲樂。捶鐘告四方,誰有大法者,若為我解說,身當為奴僕。時有阿私仙,來白於大王,我有微妙法,世間所稀有,若能修行者,吾當為汝說。時王聞仙言,心生大喜悅,即便隨仙人,供給於所需。採薪及果蓏,隨時恭敬與,情存妙法故,身心無懈倦。普為諸眾生,勤求於大法,亦不為己身、及以五欲樂。故為大國王,勤求獲此法,遂致得成佛,今故為汝說。  佛告諸比丘:「爾時王者,則我身是。時仙人者,今提婆達多是。由提婆達多善知識故,令我具足六波羅蜜,慈悲喜捨,三十二相,八十種好,紫磨金色,十力、四無所畏、四攝法、十八不共、神通道力,成等正覺,廣度眾生,皆因提婆達多善知識故。」  告諸四眾:「提婆達多卻後過無量劫,當得成佛,號曰天王如來、應供、正遍知、明行足、善逝世間解、無上士、調御丈夫、天人師、佛、世尊。世界名天道。時天王佛、住世二十中劫,廣為眾生說於妙法,恆河沙眾生得阿羅漢果,無量眾生發緣覺心,恆河沙眾生發無上道心,得無生忍,至不退轉。」  「時天王佛般涅槃後,正法住世二十中劫。全身舍利、起七寶塔,高六十由旬,縱廣四十由旬,諸天人民,悉以雜華、末香、燒香、塗香,衣服、瓔珞、幢幡、寶蓋,伎樂、歌頌,禮拜、供養七寶妙塔。無量眾生、得阿羅漢果,無量眾生、悟辟支佛,不可思議眾生、發菩提心,至不退轉。」  佛告諸比丘:「未來世中,若有善男子、善女人,聞妙法華經提婆達多品,淨心信敬,不生疑惑者,不墮地獄、餓鬼、畜生,生十方佛前,所生之處,常聞此經。若生人天中,受勝妙樂,若在佛前,蓮華化生。」  於時下方多寶世尊、所從菩薩,名曰智積,白多寶佛:「當還本土。」釋迦牟尼佛告智積曰:「善男子,且待須臾,此有菩薩、名文殊師利,可與相見,論說妙法,可還本土。」  爾時文殊師利、坐千葉蓮華,大如車輪,俱來菩薩亦坐寶蓮華,從於大海娑竭羅龍宮、自然湧出,住虛空中,詣靈鷲山,從蓮華下,至於佛所,頭面敬禮二世尊足。修敬已畢,往智積所,共相慰問,卻坐一面。  智積菩薩問文殊師利:「仁往龍宮,所化眾生,其數幾何?」文殊師利言:「其數無量,不可稱計,非口所宣,非心所測,且待須臾,自當證知。」所言未竟,無數菩薩、坐寶蓮華,從海湧出,詣靈鷲山,住虛空中。此諸菩薩,皆是文殊師利之所化度,具菩薩行,皆共論說六波羅蜜。本聲聞人、在虛空中說聲聞行,今皆修行大乘空義。文殊師利謂智積曰:「於海教化,其事如是。」爾時智積菩薩,以偈讚曰:大智德勇健,化度無量眾,今此諸大會、及我皆已見。演暢實相義,開闡一乘法,廣導諸眾生,令速成菩提。  文殊師利言:「我於海中,惟常宣說妙法華經。」智積問文殊師利言:「此經甚深微妙,諸經中寶,世所稀有,頗有眾生、勤加精進,修行此經,速得佛否?」文殊師利言:「有裟竭羅龍王女,年始八歲,智慧利根,善知眾生諸根行業,得陀羅尼,諸佛所說甚深秘藏,悉能受持。深入禪定,了達諸法,於剎那頃、發菩提心,得不退轉,辯才無礙。慈念眾生、猶如赤子,功德具足,心念口演,微妙廣大,慈悲仁讓,志意和雅,能至菩提。」  智積菩薩言:「我見釋迦如來,於無量劫、難行苦行,積功累德,求菩提道,未曾止息。觀三千大千世界,乃至無有如芥子許、非是菩薩捨身命處,為眾生故,然後乃得成菩提道。不信此女於須臾頃、便成正覺。」言論未訖,時龍王女、忽現於前,頭面禮敬,卻住一面,以偈讚曰:深達罪福相,遍照於十方,微妙淨法身,具相三十二,以八十種好、用莊嚴法身。天人所戴仰,龍神咸恭敬,一切眾生類,無不宗奉者。又聞成菩提,唯佛當證知,我闡大乘教,度脫苦眾生。  時舍利弗語龍女言:「汝謂不久得無上道,是事難信。所以者何。女身垢穢,非是法器,云何能得無上菩提。佛道懸曠,經無量劫、勤苦積行,具修諸度,然後乃成。又女人身、猶有五障,一者、不得作梵天王,二者、帝釋,三者、魔王,四者、轉輪聖王,五者、佛身,云何女身速得成佛?」  爾時龍女有一寶珠,價值三千大千世界,持以上佛。佛即受之。龍女謂智積菩薩、尊者舍利弗言:「我獻寶珠,世尊納受,是事疾否?」答言:「甚疾。」女言:「以汝神力、觀我成佛,復速於此。」當時眾會,皆見龍女、忽然之間、變成男子,具菩薩行,即往南方無垢世界,坐寶蓮華,成等正覺,三十二相、八十種好,普為十方一切眾生、演說妙法。爾時娑婆世界、菩薩、聲聞、天龍八部、人與非人,皆遙見彼龍女成佛,普為時會人天說法,心大歡喜,悉遙敬禮。無量眾生、聞法解悟,得不退轉,無量眾生、得受道記,無垢世界、六反震動,娑婆世界、三千眾生住不退地、三千眾生發菩提心、而得受記。智積菩薩、及舍利弗,一切眾會,默然信受。

法華七喻如下:1.譬喻品第三 - 火宅喻譬如內容假設在一個地方,有一間非常荒廢的大宅(比喻為三界),內裡住了很的不同的生物(比喻為六道眾生),生物之間互相爭鬥覬覦,經常處於危險之中。某一天大宅發生了大火,生物更變得岌岌可危(比喻為五濁八苦)。而一名老富翁(比喻為佛陀)的數十名孩子(比喻為人)仍然在火宅中嬉戲,展示了人的愚昧,老翁不顧危險衝進火場拯救孩子,展示佛陀對人的不離不棄。但是孩子竟不理會老翁的忠告什至請求,於是老翁利用方便(比喻為大小二乘),告訴孩子們已經在外面準備了三輛漂亮的車子(羊車、鹿車及牛車)送給他們,從而誘使他們脫離苦境,最後送給他們最好的大白牛車(佛乘)。羊車、鹿車、牛車分別比喻為聲聞、緣覺、菩薩三乘、藉此渡眾生學習佛乘(真正唯一的離苦之法),這稱為開三顯一之法。大白牛是最華麗非凡的,乘坐他便能永遠在浩瀚宇宙中自由自在地飛翔。2.信解品第四 - 窮子喻在一個遙遠的國度,有一個流浪漢(比喻為世人,及修聲聞乘、緣覺乘之人)自小離家出走四處浪蕩甚至行乞(喻生死三界),他連自己的家鄉都忘記了,甚至也記不起自己曾經有一個非常慈愛的父親(喻忘記了佛的循循善誘)。終於直到有一天他回到了自己的家鄉尋求生計,他的父親是一名富翁(比喻為佛陀),有著龐大的生意以及浩瀚的財產,他一直記掛著自己的兒子,還希望他能接過自己的一切。那位男子經過了富翁的屋子並渴望能夠在大屋內找到一份工作,養活自己不再捱餓。富翁很快便看得出眼前的男子就是他的兒子,但是他知道並不能直接告訴自己是他的父親,因為他不可能接受得了。於是,富翁為了留下他的兒子便給予其一份低下的工作讓他漸漸適應,過了一段日子才讓他做一些程度較高的工作。如此一來二十年過去,富翁在臨終時,才告訴所有人那名男子是他的兒子,而該名男子才驚覺原來自己一路尋覓的早就在自己的身旁。故事讓我們了解到佛一直透過種種方便之法來教化眾生弟子。亦說出了眾生的抗拒而及聲聞、緣覺仍未具足大乘功德之法財(如六度萬行)終不能成佛,如同流浪漢沒有衣食終不能生存。3.草藥喻品第五 - 藥草喻佛法就像雨水一樣能夠滋潤萬物。在這個世界裡,有著不同的花草樹木,即使是相同品種的物種,牠們也會有不同的大小、形狀、生長速度,然而牠們所受的都是同一樣的雨水。在山谷中(比喻為現今的國度),雨水(比喻為佛法)會公平地為花草樹木提供養分,給予成長的力量而且是必須的。在山谷森林中,有大中小的藥草(分別比喻為菩薩、聲聞緣覺、天人),牠們都能夠得到雨水(佛法)的滋潤而成長,但是由於擁有不同的生命特質(比喻為佛性、慧根的不同),所以有著不同的成長速度(覺悟的速度)。可是終有一天也可以開花結果成就正覺治療眾生。而人也是眾多植物之一就像小花小草一樣,也受著佛法的保護,所以到某一天也可像藥草一樣開花結果,到達智慧的彼岸。4.化城喻品第七 - 化城喻在很遠很遠的地方有著非常吸引的寶藏(比喻為成佛的道路),在領導者(佛陀)的帶領下,有一群志士(比喻為追求佛法的人)一同前往遙遠的寶藏處。在開始的時候,他們都深信能夠得到寶物(證得正覺)。可是在他們面前的卻是一個又一個的難關,儘管在領導者的鼓勵下他們的鬥志仍然不斷消沉,最終更停了下來,放棄了初衷。領導者看見後無不心中悲痛,但是仍想一心引導他們到達寶地,於是便使出幻術(比喻為種種方便之法),變出了一座華麗之城堡(比喻為小乘之法、阿羅漢位、即時涅盤之法)給予志士(追求佛法之人),這些方便之法門都是為了誘導眾生繼續修行而設,皆因眾生是十分容易受到外界所影響而再入迷,再受無間之苦。然而,眾生並不應該只滿足於小乘之便而怠慢,因為只有佛乘才是真正的了悟。5.五百弟子授記品 - 衣珠喻從前有一名流浪人(比喻為佛子),他過著顛沛流離的生活,經常要挨餓而且全身都十分骯髒。有一天,他經過一個地方令他想起了他的一位朋友(比喻為佛陀)正正是住在這裡。因此他便找來了他這位朋友敘舊,而他的朋友是一名富商而且十分念舊,對他照顧非常。他的朋友還為他而擔心,為他仍然會過著流浪的生活(比喻為世間的疾苦)而傷心。最後,他悄悄的把一顆明珠放進了流浪人的衣服裡,這顆明珠帶著了朋友的祝福而且有著實現夢想的力量(比喻為佛性)。可憾的是,浪人根本沒有注意到身上的明珠,還過著和以往一樣的苦困日子。直至一日,他再度遇上他的朋友,朋友一面惆悵的望著他,道出了明珠一事,他才恍然大悟,原來自己根本不用過著這種生活。整個故事告訴我們(佛子),我們身上一直藏有美麗的明珠,只是我們不去運用它甚至把它遺忘了。6.安樂行品第十四 - 髻珠喻在一個四分五裂的世界,有著大大小小的戰爭不斷發生。當中有一名君是為轉輪聖王(喻為佛陀),欲以和平之法統一各國,消除世間痛苦。他勸籲各君王不要再執戈相向,可是並沒有人回應他,而且還合力出兵攻打轉輪聖王的國土。不過,單憑這些國家是不可能戰勝轉輪法王,他們逐過逐過的臣服於轉輪聖王之下。在戰場上有功的人均獲得豐厚的賞賜,有的獲贈豪華的房屋,有的給予名駒更有大白象。可是轉輪聖王沒有送出他頭上的髻珠(至珍貴無上的寶物比喻為妙法蓮華經),因為他認為髻珠只可以給予最大功勞的人,亦即是擊退所有敵人(比喻為魔障)並帶來和平的人。妙法蓮華經對眾生來說就像名珠一般可以用來克服所有魔障,亦是佛遺留給我們的至寶。7.如來壽量品第十六 - 醫子喻在一個遙遠的國度,有一位良醫(比喻為佛陀),有著無數的孩兒(比喻為佛子即世人),良醫非常疼愛自己的兒子。有一天,良醫要到別處工作,遂囑咐孩子們要好好照顧自己,雖然良醫還是很擔心,但是仍要踏上征途。孩子們在父親走了不久卻把毒汁誤當果汁喝下,當良醫回來時有些孩子已經病入膏肓進入了痴迷的狀態。良醫立即調制解藥,把所有沒有痴愚的兒子治療,可是喪失心智的卻懷疑良藥是假的是不可能治癒他們的所以一直拒絕喝下。為了救這些可憐的孩子,良醫唯有假裝死去(比喻佛陀之涅盤),希望誘使他們醒覺,最後把所有孩子們都救回了。故事是希望世人能真正了解佛所做的一切,不要再以痴迷的心看待佛理。

There are popular sayings that go"The deities are watching what you are doing" and"There is a deity three feet above your head".In Buddhism,there is a verse that states,"Whether you are well-off or not is predestined according to thekarma accrued in the previous life.If you can commit to accruing good karma,then you will have good luck in your future life.You reap what you have shown in your previous life.Whatever you do now sows the seeds for great or littleprosperity in your future life".There is not a god that decides on giving rewards to the goodand punishments to the evil.The karma, of your previous life decides whether you will live inpain or in bliss in this life, and in the next.

蒙山施食儀軌 (E051 中華印經協會.台灣生命電視台) 3.0
《蒙山施食儀》是漢傳佛教寺院每天晚課都必須進行的一項重要內容。施食是佛教以特定的儀軌所進行的給餓鬼道或地獄道眾生施捨飲食,免除痛苦的法事。蒙山施食最早始於佛陀時代。昔時阿難尊者於林中習定,夜半三更見面然餓鬼滿身火燃,苦巨難堪。面然告訴阿難:三日後你將命終墮入我類,但也有挽救辦法,你若能以飲食施予六道群靈,並為我們供養三寶,即可增長福德、延長壽命。第二天清晨,阿難尊者便將此事秉白佛陀,於是佛便為其誦陀羅尼咒、說施食法。同時,佛陀教阿難誦變食真言,令飲食變少成多,從七化七,乃至無量。還教阿難念誦甘露咒,水變甘露。令恒河沙數群靈接受飲食皆得六根清淨,即脫眾苦、超生善道。由是阿難延壽至百二十歲。這是佛陀在世時施食的開始。佛教傳入中國,到梁武帝時,他夜夢高僧,勸他建水陸大齋,普濟六道眾生。梁武帝後來依志公和尚意見,積覽佛經,編成儀軌,以二咒為主,會集顯密文典,建壇超拔,這是中土施食的開始。唐代金剛智和不空兩位密教僧人,亦以二咒為本,參增顯密諸文,集燄口儀軌,流傳至今,弘揚最廣,這就是今天的燄口施食。到了宋代,不動法師(或稱甘露法師)住錫四川省蒙山。蒙山,在四川雅州名山縣西五十里,此地有五峰,前一峰最高,叫做上清峰,此峰產甘露,宋朝的不動法師就在這裡修道,因此把他叫做甘露法師。不動法師集《救拔燄口餓鬼經》及秘密部的一種水施食法,並以二咒為主,集諸密部成文,稱《蒙山施食儀》。法師之所以要集這個《蒙山施食儀》,是因為他覺得前面既然已經誦過了彌陀經,修了大懺悔,活著的人已經得到利益了,那還應該要利益六道的眾生,普利幽冥,因此他就依據秘密部中的水施食法,以及《救拔燄口餓鬼經》等,集成了這個《蒙山施食儀》,想要令後學與幽冥眾生普結無生之緣。現代寺院中所舉行的施放蒙山的方式有兩種,即大蒙山和小蒙山。法師依足儀軌舉行法事,稱為放大蒙山。在施放大蒙山的時候,法壇上供置佛像,備清水、食物,對面設孤魂台供「十方法界六道群靈之位」。恭請有德行的高僧主壇作法,憑藉三寶加持,大眾誦經咒,直示唯心法門,令群靈受持三皈,禮佛拜懺,聞法受食,同得解脫。寺院道場每天晚課時,亦以《蒙山施食儀》為日誦常規,施食普濟幽魂,稱為放小蒙山,蒙山由此便成為漢傳佛教寺院晚課的一項重要內容。蒙山施食的對象為幽冥界眾生,他們因為過去生所造的罪惡,今生感得形貌醜惡、飲食缺乏,承受種種的苦事,所以就放大蒙山施食超拔他們,而施食的目的在於,其一,為報恩:因六道眾生從無始劫來常與我們互為六親眷屬,不忍心看到他們在惡道受苦,所以施食來救度他們。其二,為警惕的意思,藉此施食法會令我們想到三途惡道的苦楚,警惕自己的起心動念、言行舉止,不造惡業,以免沉淪。其三,為行菩薩道,蒙山施食就是期以大悲心,藉佛、法、僧的力量,使六道眾生都可以來這裡聽經、聞法、懺悔,增長善根,共成佛道。施食有十種利益:1、作大佈施,行檀波羅蜜。2、超薦有緣,普利幽冥。3、廣結善緣。4、得諸佛菩薩及所超薦鬼神之護佑。5、消世間災厲之氣。6、消自業障。7、增滿福德。8、消災延壽。9、居處安樂。10、道業增進。施食有很多功德,如《佛為首迦長者說業報差別經》載,奉施飲食得十種功德:得命;得色;得力;得安穩無礙辯;得無所畏;無諸懈怠,為眾敬仰;眾人愛樂;具大福報;命終生天;速證涅槃。《施餓鬼甘露經》云:「雖施阿羅漢、辟支佛,現受其報有限有量,但得五百劫人天果報。善施餓鬼一揣之食,是人福德即是菩提,菩提者不可限量,是故福壽不可限量。」《救拔燄口經》云:「若比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞、優婆夷,常以此密言及四如來名號加持食,施餓鬼,便能具足無量福德。壽命延長,增益色力,善根具足。」《甘露味經》云:「又復一法,若人遇大重病,及諸鬼病等,當作麵粥三器,咒之七遍,於曠野中,施諸餓鬼。如是二七日,所遇病痛即得除癒。」《施諸餓鬼經》云:「即如是種種與供養十方一切諸佛無異。」

願心不滅﹐慈悲永隨  為了弘法,這些年我走過了世界許多地方,接觸過各式各樣的信徒,也聽過他們許多的苦難遭遇。這個世界本來就充滿了各種的痛苦,處於痛苦中的生命是很脆弱的,我們一定要在這個脆弱的生命裡面,找到一個支撐點,也就是要找到人生的依靠。  而在這尋尋覓覓的修行過程中,我們難免會有挫折、退轉,甚至誤入歧途的經驗。這時候,我們一定要有信心、一定要堅持下去,沒有找到生命的支撐點絕不罷休,我最常告訴他們的是:「信心成就—切!」  說到生命的支撐點,佛法就是我們這一生最重要的支撐了!就像大海裡面的一艘船,有了佛法這艘船﹐我們的生命就有了依靠,就算遇到大風大浪,也不會沉沒!依靠佛法這艘船,我們不但可以將無私的、不痛苦的愛—慈悲,散播到人間的每一個角落,也可以乘著這艘法船,過渡到清淨自在的彼岸。  我們的生命中充滿生老病死和其他的痛苦,那是因為我們太過執著,將假的誤認為是真的,緊抓著不放,因而產生痛苦。就像戀愛的時候執著所愛的人,失戀了就產生痛苦;擁有了財富就執著每一分錢,失去財富便產生痛苦;成了家就執著每一個家人﹐每天把自已累得痛苦不堪。  其實,面對痛苦的情境,我們要轉化自已的念頭,把境界轉化成資糧,看見生命與萬事萬物的變幻,把自已的心調整成菩提心,並且對一切眾生生起慈悲心,那麼所有問題都可以迎刃而解了。  「慈悲心」是佛法的根本,是一切德行的基礎,諸佛菩薩之所以能夠無怨無悔地救度眾生,就是因為有一顆無私無我的慈悲心;我們如果能夠隨時隨地展現慈悲心,像是施食、放生等等,這個世界一定會變得更好,我們的修行也將更容易成就。所以,願力書的第一冊—「你不必很聰明,但一定要慈悲」強調「慈悲心」的重要,有了慈悲心,我們依法修行才容易成就。  修行就像爬樓梯,必須一步一步按照次序來,每個人在成佛以前,都有許多的功課要做,我們要依照佛陀、上師的教誨,努力修行,才能儲備將來成佛的資糧。這是我的一點心得,跟有緣學佛的大眾分享。目錄慈悲是治病的妙手  慈悲心的助緣………10  慈悲是一切美德的根本…﹒……19  慈悲有多大的力量………29  生命的動力來自慈悲………40愛才是慈悲的疆界  基本的慈悲之道………52  用愛、用慈悲得到全世界………62  學佛就是要學習同理心………71  抱著慈悲與關懷改變世界………82慈悲是唯一的動機  我的修行生活………92  學習發展無私的慈悲………101  學佛不是迷信,是學習一份真理……109  以利他為出發點面對問題………123苦難是慈悲的道場  生命的根本上師………130  苦難、貧窮的地方讓我們學習到慈悲………138  素食,製造平安吉祥………160每天都要利益眾生  快樂與慈悲………166  觀照般若妙智,利益眾生………174  真正的愛是理解與包容………194讓所有人離苦得樂  愛的修行………204  幫助一切生命離苦得樂………214慈悲是治病的妙手慈悲就是拔眾生苦、就是給眾生快樂,是無我無私地利益眾生。慈悲心的助緣慈悲是我們佛教的生命,你怎麼對待眾生,眾生就怎麼對待你;我們怎麼對待這個世界,世界就怎麼對待我們,我們跟眾生必須保持一種協調、和諧的關係。在日本,有一位慧心禪師,他住在山裡,信徒上山找老禪師,常看到老禪師一見到鹿就用石頭丟。一開始信徒不敢說話,看久了,忍不住就問︰「師父叫我們慈悲、保護生命,為什麼用石頭丟這些鹿呢﹖這是怎麼一回事﹖」老禪師說:「這些鹿一向不怕人,在我們這邊吃東西很悠閒,亳無警覺性,以後獵人一上來,這些鹿很容易被獵殺。所以我丟牠們、打牠們,以後鹿見到人就怕,再也不敢下山,也不容易被殺害。」所以,慈悲也要有方法,如果小朋友你沒教他,做錯事情不處罰,以後他就變成壞孩子,這也是我們的責任。慈悲有兩種相,大乘佛法是觀音菩薩的慈悲相,在藏傳佛教叫忿怒相,這是要降伏我們的壞心。第二個故事:有一個人要去喜馬拉雅山,當時正好下大雪,雪積得很深,冷得要死,他卻不小心迷了路,走在路上很害怕。突然看見前面有一個人,兩個人就趕快湊在一起,互相幫忙,深怕凍死在山上,並努力尋找下山的路。他們為了保持體力而不敢說話,山上空氣稀薄,天氣又冷;突然,看見前面有個人躺在地上,走近一看,有-位老人家快凍死了,只剩口氣在,其中一個人趕快將老人背起來要救他;另一個說︰「你怎麼那麼笨?我們在山上快沒力氣了,你還要救人,你會死在路邊的;不但你會死,老人也會死。把他放下,我們快下山吧﹗」但這個人不為所動,他說:「無論如何,不能見死不救。」另一個年輕人只好不理他,邊走邊罵地離開了。好心人將老人家背在背上,慢慢走下山,非常艱苦,但也因為他背著老人,走得很熱又流汗;因為流了熱汗,這個快凍死的老人,身體慢慢暖和、慢慢清楚,從那時開始,兩個人互相享受體溫,慢慢走下了山,終於走到村子而獲救。得救以後,兩個人非常高興,但突然有消息傅來,有人在半山腰發現了一具屍體,大家把它抬下來,上前一看,那個人是誰?就是那一個見死不救的年輕人。所以各位,願意犧牲自已去救人,結果反而救了自已,自私的人,結果被凍死了。Willing heart immortal,Cibei Yong SuiFor preaching, all these years I have gone through many parts ofthe world, come into contact with a wide range of followers, haveheard many of their sufferings. 佛門裏講永明延壽禪師是阿彌陀佛再來,他老人家留下四句話是:「有禪無淨土,十人九蹉路,陰境忽現前,瞥爾隨他去。 無禪有淨土,萬修萬人去,但得見彌陀,何愁不開悟。 有禪有淨土,猶如戴角虎,現世為人師,來生作佛祖。 無禪無淨土,銅床並鐵柱,萬劫與千生,沒個人依怙。」《佛說無量壽經》:阿彌陀佛在成佛前的一個世間,是妙喜國的國王——世饒王。在他當國王時非常喜歡聽佛講經說法,他的悟性也很強,佛講的這些道理他很快就理解了。此後他決定潛心悟道,並放棄了王位,出家為僧,法號法藏比丘。他認為人在世間,苦海無邊,於是他決定要幫助芸芸眾生脫離苦海。他感到眾生的苦是來自自己的內心世界和外部的世界。來自內心世界的苦是因為眾生的貪慾惡欲所致,來自外部世界的苦是由於我們所生存的這個世界本身就是「穢土」。再說還有輪迴之苦。他想,如果要有一個沒有任何痛苦的世界該多好呀,在那個世界裡人們的心裡沒有任何貪慾、惡念,眾生的心靈就像泉水一樣純潔。這樣每個人的內心就會沒有痛苦。痛苦最重要的來源之一內心的痛苦就不存在了。痛苦還有一個來源就是外部的客觀世界(既我們的生存環境)。他想,如果在外部環境上沒有四季、寒暑、陰晴的變化,永遠是那麼的涼爽舒適,心地清淨平等,也沒有輪迴的世界,眾生永遠生活在這樣一個極樂世界裡該多好呀。從此他發下四十八個大願,一定要成就這樣一個世界。要知道他這願力的力量是宇宙中任何一種力量都無法比擬的,這願力的力量是宇宙中最強大的力量。經過數劫的努力,他的無邊願力終於幫助他成就了這一宇宙中最理想的世界——西方極樂世界。從此成為了十方一切諸佛都共同讚譽的阿彌陀佛。眾生通過念佛一心來到西方極樂世界。在西方極樂世界,沒有惡道,與諸大菩薩如觀世音菩薩、大勢至菩薩、文殊菩薩、普賢菩薩等聚會一處,能夠聽受佛法,而且壽命無有窮盡,還可以知道各處其他眾生的心念和命運,得到與佛無二的智慧。

達磨二入四行觀  夫入道多途,要而言之,不出二種:一是理入、二是行入。理入者:謂藉教悟宗;深信含生同一真性,但為客塵妄想所覆,不能顯了。若也捨妄歸真,凝住壁觀,無自無他,凡聖等一,堅住不移,更不隨文教,此即與理冥符。無有分別,寂然無為,名之理入。行入謂四行,其餘諸行悉入此中。何等四耶?一報冤行,二隨緣行,三無所求行,四稱法行。  云何報冤行?謂修道行人,若受苦時,當自念言:我往昔無數劫中,棄本從末,流浪諸有,多起冤憎,違害無限,今雖無犯,是我宿殃,惡業果熟,非天非人所能見與,甘心甘受,都無冤訴。經云:逢苦不憂。何以故?識達故。此心生時,與理相應,體冤進道,故說言報冤行。  二、隨緣行者:眾生無我,並緣業所轉,苦樂齊受,皆從緣生。若得勝報榮譽等事,是我過去宿因所感,今方得之,緣盡還無,何喜之有?得失從緣,心無增減,喜風不動,冥順於道,是故說言隨緣行。  三、無所求行者:世人長迷,處處貪著,名之為求。智者悟真,理將俗反,安心無為,形隨運轉,萬有斯空,無所願樂。功德黑暗常相隨逐,三界久居,猶如火宅,有身皆苦,誰得而安?了達此處,故捨諸有,止想無求。經云:有求皆苦,無求即樂,判知無求,真為道行,故言無所求行。  四、稱法行者:性淨之理,目之為法。此理眾相斯空,無染無著,無此無彼。經曰:法無眾生,離眾生垢故;法無有我,離我垢故;智者若能信解此理,應當稱法而行。法體無慳,身命財行檀捨施,心無吝惜,脫解三空,不倚不著,但為去垢,稱化眾生而不取相。此為自行,復能利他,亦能莊嚴菩提之道。檀施既爾,餘五亦然。為除妄想,修行六度,而無所行,是為稱法行。

《月燈》云:「見他人過失,不可宣說之,如是之行業,得如是果報。」 當我們看到有人在講說他人的罪過時,自己要經過仔細的觀察​,看看是否有必要說出他人的過錯,在謹慎觀察之後,將適合說的說出,不適合說的不說,如果只是聽說,我們就跟著說的話,反而會令自己損失。基本上是不需要說他人過錯的,為什麼,因為如果他人有罪過,那麼罪過的果報,是必定會來的,所以我們不需要去說他人的過錯,因為說他人罪過不會更勝於他人所獲得的罪過果報,果報是必至的。也因此我們不需要去道他人過。尤其是,如果只是看外表而說​他人過錯的話,會有依人不依法的過失。

《中國高僧列傳》為 海濤法師 參考《高僧傳》所編著的白話文,精彩易讀。《高僧傳》為一部成書於南北朝 記錄中國東漢至至當時佛教僧人的史料,由南朝梁僧人慧皎(497年~554年)撰。十四卷,收錄於大正藏CBETA T50 No. 2059 。後人有時稱此書為《梁高僧傳》。《高僧傳》含序共十四卷。記東漢永平至南朝梁天監間著名僧人257人事蹟,附見274人,又將僧人分為譯經、義解、神異、習禪、明律、遺身、誦經、興福、經師、唱導等10類。其中錄有多位高僧與譯經師。《高僧傳》大量引用史料,可考者計80種,「及晉、宋、齊、梁春秋書史,秦、趙、燕、涼荒朝偽歷,地理雜篇,孤文片記。並博諮古老,廣訪先達,校其有無,取其同異。」孫星衍評價:「遁入釋道,故多通品,辭理可觀,且足資考史,地方古迹亦可借證,實為有用之書。」除了歷史價值外,還有文學價值。本書以「高僧」為名,意思是「高蹈獨絕」的僧人《高僧傳·自序》中說:「前代所撰,多曰名僧,然名者本實之賓也,若實行潛光,則高而不名;寡德適時,則名而不高。名而不高,本非所紀;高而不名,則備今錄。」《高僧傳》後,又有唐代道宣撰《續高僧傳》30卷,宋代贊寧等撰《宋高僧傳》30卷,明代如惺撰《大明高僧傳》8卷,合稱四朝高僧傳。"Chinese monk Biography"for Haitao Master Reference "Monks" by Bianzhu vernacular,wonderful read."Monks" for a record book in the Northern and Southern HanChinese Buddhist monks to to historical time, by Liang monksDignitary (497 ~ 554 years) essays. 歷代祖師倡導放生法語寒山拾得大師寒山問拾得:放生可成佛否?答曰:諸佛無心,惟以愛物為心。人能救物之苦,即能成就諸佛心願矣。故一念慈悲,救一物命,是一念觀世音也。日日放生則慈悲日日增長,久久不息則念念流入觀世音大慈悲海矣。我心即是佛心,焉得不成佛乎!故知放生因緣,非小善之所能比。凡我同願,宜廣行勸勉,善令群生同歸悲化。(寒山大師相傳為文殊菩薩示現,拾得大師相傳為普賢菩薩示現。)誌公禪師梁武帝問誌公禪師:「放生功德如何?」答曰:「放生功德,不可限量。經云:蠢動含靈,皆有佛性,只因迷妄因緣,遂使昇沈各別,以渠生死輪迴互為六親眷屬,改頭換面不復相識。若能發喜捨心,起慈悲念,贖命放生者,現世保病延生,未來當證菩提。」智者大師智者大師相傳為釋迦牟尼佛乘願再來,隋陳時代,大師見臨海漁民捕魚殺生,大起慈悲,以襯施買臨海漁滬一所作放生池,兼為漁民講經說法,漁民聞法後率皆改行轉業,好生從善,並獻臨海江滬溪梁六十三所,達三四百餘里,全部作為放生池,是我國有史以來最早的大規模放生,所救活的物命數以億萬計,現在的西湖,就是大師當年所創的古放生池。藕益大師「殺生即殺自心未來諸佛,放生即放自心未來諸佛,若放自心未來諸佛,即真念佛三昧,修此念佛三昧,是恒轉法華經百千萬億部也。」「欲即人心證佛心,轉劫濁成淨土,術莫於放生,放生一法,唯擴與久,一杯水不救車薪火,唯設人各一杯焉,一杯不已再一杯已,杯水多,車火未有不滅者,今殺運紛紛,並同分惡業招感,非慈悲三昧水,孰能熄之。」印光大師云:放生十大功德(一)無刀兵劫。世上刀兵大劫,皆由人心好殺所致。人人戒殺放生,則人人全其慈悲愛物之心,而刀兵劫運,亦自消滅於無形,此轉移世運之絕大運動也,深望大政治家、大教育家、大農工家,注意於此,力為提倡,必有絕大效果。(二)集諸吉祥。吾人一發慈悲之心,則喜氣集於其身,此感應必然之理。(三)長壽健康。佛經云:戒殺放生之人,得二種福報:一者、長壽;二者、多福多壽無病。(四)多子宜男。放生者善體天地好生之心,故獲宜男之慶。(五)諸佛歡喜。一切生物,佛皆視之如子,救一物命,即是救佛一子,諸佛皆大歡喜。(六)物類感恩。所救生物臨死得活,皆大歡喜,感恩思德,永為萬劫圖報之緣。(七)無諸災難。慈悲之大,福德日增,一切患難,皆無形消滅。(八)得生天上。戒殺放生者,來世得生於四王天,享無邊之福。若兼修淨土者,直可往生於西方極樂國土,其功德實無涯矣。(九)現在為人生極危險時代。蓋煙酒之癖,戀愛之魔,纏繞眾人。如眾生報恩,則諸惡消滅,四季安寧。(十)動物由下級進於高階之狀態,與人類由野蠻進於文明之階級相符合。據生物學家之言曰:凡生物皆應於外界之狀態而變化。如人人戒殺放生,則生生不息,善心相感,正似子孫代代相傳,永遠福壽。弘一大師「先問諸君:一欲延壽否?二欲愈病否?三欲免難否?四欲得子否?倘願者,今有一最簡便易行之法奉告,即是放生也。」「惟願諸君自今以後,力行放生之事,痛改殺生之事。」妙善大師(金山活佛)「最好的消業方法,莫過於放生,世界上最大的惡業莫過於殺生害命,反過來說,世界上最大的善業是莫過於戒殺放生,所以放生是最大的功德。你能依我的話,趕快量力買生物放生,就能增福延壽的。」懺公師父蓮因寺懺公師父為當今佛教界大眾景仰敬重的大德,亦曾有放生親身感應實證,在「放生儀規」中記云:「丙申春雲臥病岡山,經久不癒。醫藥治療,營養滋補,靜攝調護,悉皆罔效,身心苦悶,不知所措,嗣承淨業道侶慈悲勸諭,謂若提倡放生,與眾行之當得早占勿藥云云。雲遂依勸言,先自放生,並向諸方提倡,經時不久,頑強痼疾霍然痊癒。」

勝鬘夫人是舍衛國波斯匿王之女,也是逾闍國的王妃。阿勝鬘夫人地位尊貴,但面貌卻長得不太好看,她心裡常常因此生起疑惑。有一次,當釋迦牟尼佛在舍衛國祇園精舍的時候,她來到佛前頂禮佛陀之後,很恭敬地向佛陀提出幾個問題:世尊!一、為什麼有些女人面貌醜陋,體態粗劣,望之可怖,而且窮苦卑賤?二、為什麼有些女人面貌醜陋,體態粗劣,望之可怖,但是大富大貴?三、為什麼有些女人長的美麗出眾,卻很貧苦,出身卑賤?四、為什麼有些女人長的美麗端莊,清秀可敬,有財有福,身世高貴?◎佛陀開示說:「勝鬘!女人面容醜陋,體態粗劣,望之可怖,而且貧苦卑賤,是由於過去世性情暴躁,容易發怒,有人稍微說她不是,就心懷怨恨,氣憤憎惡;同時她也不供養父母,及幫助有需要的人;又生性善妒,看見別人得到財物、榮譽、尊重、敬仰、禮遇、崇拜,就生妒忌,因忌生怒。◎勝鬘!女人面貌醜陋,體態粗劣,望之可怖,但卻大富大貴,是由於過去世性情暴躁,有人說她不是,她就生氣、怨恨、憤怒、憎惡,可是她卻孝敬父母,常佈施有需要的人;且又沒有妒忌之心,看見別人得到財富、榮譽、尊重、敬仰、禮遇、崇拜,她能隨喜讚歎。◎勝鬘!女人面目姣好,美麗動人,但很貧苦,身世卑賤是由於過去世性情溫柔,有人講她壞話,也不生氣,又能忍讓,可是她不恭敬父母,對有需要的人不肯作任何佈施,又生性善妒,看見別人得到財富、榮譽、尊重、敬仰、禮遇、崇拜,她就生妒忌,常自傲慢。◎勝鬘!女人長的端莊美麗、清秀,品行高潔,多財富且福德高貴,是由於過去世性情溫柔,又能忍讓,人說她非,毫不計較,亦不生氣,她又能廣行善事,對別人不生嫉妒之心,言行謙遜有禮,而且對他人之好,時常隨喜讚歎。勝鬘啊!這就是婦女們貧富貴賤和美醜的緣故了。◎勝鬘夫人聽了世尊的開示,很慚愧而又歡喜的說道!「世尊!我聽了你的開示,完全明白自己長得醜陋而身世尊貴的原因,好比從黑暗中得到光明,從荒野中發現了康莊大道,這道理實在太奇妙了。我從今天起,縱然有人說我壞話,也不生氣,對別人更不生妒嫉之心,常隨喜讚歎他人之善,並要對有需要的人多加佈施。歸我統制的婦女很多,我也要教她們如是學,如是行。」◎聽完了佛陀的回答,勝鬘夫人的心靈已經得到光明;聰明的您是不是已經把握到兼具美麗與富貴的要訣了呢?首先培養溫柔的性情、謙虛忍讓、不計較、不忌妒,並且能夠隨喜讚美別人,廣行佈施,恭敬、供養父母。如是因、如是果,佛陀的真理讓您永遠離貧窮、醜陋與卑賤。Mrs. wins PatrioticRosary is rounded Bosiniwang daughter, Princess country is overBuddhist monk.   古德云:「禍福無門,惟人自招」,這是因果相循不變的道理;而佛法所謂「眾生平等」、「眾生皆有佛性」,即是說明世上所有生命皆平等一如,沒有任何優劣、高下之別。所有有情眾生皆有成佛的可能、所有生命都值得被愛惜與保護,這就是尊重生命的基本精神,也是一種最美好的道德情操。  本書的原作者乃是清代經學家江慎修居士,是一位博學多聞的大儒者,不但對佛法素有修持,亦有仁民愛物之胸懷。這本約在清康熙年間成書的《放生殺生現報錄》,即是由江慎修居士編著.印光大師鑑定,記載中國歷代以來各地所流傳之放生與殺生現世得報的真實故事,旨在廣勸眾生「戒殺護生、多行善法」。作者編撰著本書,使之流傳廣佈、遺芳後世,即是護生行善的最佳典範,功德無量自不在話下。  本書依江慎修居士之原著,分為【放生救物篇】與【殺生惡報篇】。其中前篇又分為延壽、愈疾、免患、得子、得智五種,也就是戒殺護生的五種善行善報;而後篇則分為屠宰、食牛戒牛、暴殄、殘害四種,也就是四種傷生害物的惡行惡果。  由於原文乃以文言文撰寫,行文晦澀難懂,故將原文重新白話潤飾並配合插圖。潤飾後的故事沒有艱深的論述,可讀性強,符合現代人的閱讀習慣。其中放生故事,有不少使人溫馨感動,例如:救蟻延年的小沙彌、憐龜卻病的黃叔達、鳥伸冤獄的陸善人等,都具有相當值得學習的護生精神;而殺生故事則警惕世人,例如:嗜肉成豬的南京舉人、膿瘡療饑的杜章、射鹿中子的吳唐等,他們好肉殺生所得的惡果,值得大家引以為鑑。  印經協會印贈此書的目的,即是希望透過真實的因果業報故事,讓讀者深入了解為何人人都應該戒殺護生?為何佛教要倡導素食?原來這麼做不但可發展慈悲心,斷除人民心中的貪慾和瞋恚,戒殺護生除了避免與眾生結惡緣,更是為了維護動物生存的權利。  凡是有情皆愛惜自己的生命,我們有幸得此人身,更應以無私的慈悲心來對待一切生命。戒殺與護生乃是一種自利利他、為地球帶來幸福與和平的最佳行動;戒殺與護生就是尊重生命、愛護生命與發展慈悲心的最佳體現。只要人人心中有善念,不存傷害他人之心,則能免除世上刀兵劫難,希望讀者皆能從閱讀本書獲得無量利益。Goode says: "fortunenowhere, but people since the move."
